Rapid address capture using Dual Search engines
QuickAddress Pro provides two advanced search engines: Typedown and Single Line, which allow flexibility with searching.
The Typedown search engine guides the user through the address capture process through a series of prompts. In the first step, the user can either enter a postcode or place name.
The Single Line search engine is a free format search method, which allows quick, advanced searching. The user enters one or more address elements, as they would appear in each country’s address structure.
The search engine encompasses many advanced features, such as fuzzy matching, wildcard searching, keyword searching and alias support.

QuickAddress Pro can save up to 80% on keystrokes when entering an address, which saves valuable time.
Even when the postcode is not known, Typedown can capture an address in approximately 12 keystrokes. For example: Searching for “Albany road, Birmingham” can be achieved by typing “birm” <enter> “alb” <enter>. In this example, the number of keystrokes is reduced from 24 to just 9.

The address information is supplied to QAS from the Royal Mail or international equivalent on a regular basis (quarterly or monthly) and incorporates all changes to address information. In fact according to the Royal Mail, there are approximately 100,000 changes to the post office file every month, as a result of new premises being built, premises being removed or through recodes.

Administrator Notification
Administrator notification has been available in Pro Web and is now available in the standard client/server product (Pro) offering as well.
Administrator notification is a feature that is unique to QuickAddress software. It is a mechanism that allows for the Pro Server to send out emails to one or more recipients in order to report issues relating to data, licence or meter expiry. A warning threshold can be defined at which point a warning email is triggered. A further email is sent when the expiry actually occurs.
The scenarios that would trigger an email are:
- Dataset has expired
- Licence has expired
- Evaluation has expired
- Meter out of clicks
- Dataset about to expire
- Licence about to expire
- Meter about to run out of clicks
Benefit: This functionality further simplifies the administration of the Pro server and reduces the amount of down time.
System Prefix
System prefix functionality has been available in the QuickAddress Web product for many years. This is the first time that this functionality is also being made available in the Plug & Go and API variants as well.
Benefit: This is of particular benefit to API integrations, as it means that system information, error logs, country information etc. can all be accessed without requiring the integrator to write specific code to support these.

Recodes postcodes
If a search includes a postcode that has since been changed by the Royal Mail, from as far back as 1990, QuickAddress Pro will automatically find the address and return the new postcode.
For example, inputting “CF38UN”, will return six matches with a notification that the postcode has been recoded.

Fundamentally this feature prevents outdated data entering the customer database and saves time by recoding postcodes automatically.
Advanced Pasting Technology
QuickAddress Pro provides the functionality to automatically paste addresses into an underlying application without the intervention of the user. The customer can define any pasting sequence using the Configuration Editor.

USA Names Data – QuickAddress Names

- Access to an extensive names database containing over 36 million records, comprising the edited electoral register, shareholder registers and other sources.
- Validation of names when names are inputted. Avoid misspelling of names
- Inclusion of forename aliases
People are often referred to by more informal names than used on the electoral roll. Product includes forename aliases when capturing an address. For example, on the premise pick-list for “Valnay Street, SW17”, entering “Jim Malloch” will return a match against “James Malloch”
- Matching on forename and surname. The product is versatile and will match on either the forename or surname
- Additional sub-premise information
Names incorporates sub-premise information from the Electoral Role for those residencies, such as flats which share a delivery point.
