The Business Location Unique Reference
Number (BLURN) is a 14-character reference number that
uniquely identifies each business record within Experian's
business database. The BLURN can be used for database
analysis, as well as to match against Experian’s
National Business Database for any additional business-related
information. Note that the BLURN uniquely identifies
a business at a given location, so that branches of
a corporation are all assigned their own BLURN. The
number assigned is for life, so if a branch moves address,
the number moves with them. Even if that branch was
wound up, the number will remain with that business
and will never be reassigned to a new business record.
