Mar 2006: Royal Mail’s New Pricing in Proportion (PiP) Scheme

Royal Mail’s PiP scheme comes into effect on 21st August 2006. PiP introduces a new dimension to the way in which postage costs are calculated. From 21st August the size of the item being posted must be taken into account. Items will be classed as ‘Letter’, ‘Large Letter’ or ‘Packet’.

The nature of the Royal Mail’s changes means that current Mailsort and Walksort products will be incompatible with the new PiP pricing. QAS will be incorporating the Pricing in Proportion changes into an updated version of its existing Mailsort and Walksort V4 products. QuickAddress Mailsort and Walksort customers will be shipped the new version prior to these changes.

All QAS Mailsort and Walksort customers will be contacted to inform them of how these Royal Mail pricing changes will affect them and will be kept updated with the latest Mailsort and Walksort news.

For further information on Pricing in Proportion please see Royal Mail’s dedicated site: www.royalmail.com/pip.
