Summary

This document discusses how to add/delete/view information on licence keys.

Solution

On Windows, there is a graphical utility for licence administration. For Pro and Pro Web, it can be located via the Dataset Manager section in the Configuration Editor:

In Batch, it can be located through the Tools menu.

The Licence Manager dialog displays a list of all currently installed licence keys, as shown below:

From this dialog you can add, delete and view licence keys.

Add A Licence Key

If you receive a new licence key, type it into the Licence keys box and click the Add button. Delete A Licence Key

If you are using data sets or licence keys which have expired, or which are due to expire, the Dataset Expiry Notification screen will be displayed when you first open the Configuration Editor. You can click the Licences button on this screen to open the Licence Manager.

Alternatively, open the Licence Manager by clicking the Licences button on the Database Manager pane, or by selecting Licences from the View menu.

To delete a licence key, select it from the list of installed licences and click the Delete button.

View The Details Of A Licence Key

Select it from the list and click the Details button. The licence key dialog provides the following information:

  • Licence Key
  • Customer reference
  • Data set
  • Licence type
  • Expiry date

Unix users should view and edit the qalicn.ini licensing file directly. This file will be located in the application directory.
