UK Delivery Point Suffix DataPlus

The UK Delivery Point Suffix (DPS) is Royal Mail’s unique delivery point identifier within a given UK Postcode. It is an alpha-numeric code.

Royal Mail guarantee that a DPS will never be duplicated within that postcode. If a building is demolished, and another built in its place, a new DPS will be allocated for each new Delivery Point. Having said that, there are only 180 possible permutations of a DPS code for each Postcode.

This data is altered as and when buildings/delivery points are built or destroyed, and this is reported to Royal Mail. We receive the data on a monthly basis, but, under normal circumstances, only offer it quarterly.

Benefits

DPS was introduced by the Royal Mail for the purposes of barcoding. QAS offer a bar coding product in Pro V4.
