Technical information

The QuickAddress for Oracle E-Business Suite interface has been developed by Oracle Consulting. Learn more about:

System architecture

QuickAddress is available for the following environments:

  • Forms 6i integration (Accounts receivable, Accounts payable,HR, TeleService and TeleSales)
  • JSP integration (Sales on-line, iSupport, iStore) and
  • OA Framework (HR Selfservice, iProcurement).

Forms integration

Set of integrations of a number of QuickAddress API products. These APIs are implemented as Unix shared object libraries, accessed from the Oracle 8i database using Oracle's remote procedure call functionality. A series of wrappers connect the PL/SQL data types used by Oracle to that of the C data types used by the QuickAddress APIs. Complete addresses are retrieved from a set of QuickAddress data files, which sit outside of the Oracle database. Quarterly updates can then be applied by replacing these data files with the most recent editions. The overall structure is outlined in the diagram below.

Using the Oracle Forms solution

  1. QuickAddress functionality is activated via the 'Zoom' button as shown below. The Zoom button is a standard icon on an Oracle interface.
  2. The QuickAddress search interface is activated, and the user enters the address elements to be searched upon.
  3. Once a complete and verified address has been found, the user accepts the address before it is saved back into the Oracle interface.

Self Service integration

This integration has made use of the QuickAddress Pro World Web application. It is a middle-tier integration that utilizes web technologies as if Oracle were acting as a standard web site. When the user input form is called, the Application's 11i tier opens QuickAddress and displays it in a separate browser window.
