USPS® mobile 'great for ZIP Code verification'
Jan 29 2010, 18:01 PM
The United States Postal Service's (USPS) mobile phone app is a perfect tool for checking addresses and validating ZIP Codes, it has been suggested.
With rain and snow hitting the US hard throughout January, the possible problems faced by returned mail and packages not arriving to the correct destination are compounded, so using services such as the USPS app is recommended, said direct mailing resource Presort.com.
"USPS Mobile is a nicely design[ed] iPhone/iPod touch app that offers up a wealth of info about the Post Office, ZIP Codes, drop box locations, it can even tell you which locations have automated tellers and hours of operation.
"It's one of those apps that you never really knew you needed until you need it," the site added.
During the rush of the Christmas period, USPS reminded customers to check addresses and ZIP Codes of mail on their automated online service or through their app so as to avoid returned mail during the holiday.
