Renewal Answers

  • How do I know when my renewal is up?
  • According to 16.2d of our License Terms and Conditions, you must give us written notice of whether you will be renewing or canceling the software 30 days prior to your license expiration date. In order to make sure that you meet this deadline, your customer account manager will contact you two months before the written notice is due.

  • Can I purchase additional licenses with my renewal?
  • Yes. If you contact your customer account manager, they will facilitate the purchase process for you and make sure that your new purchase and your existing products have aligned renewal dates.

Technical Answers

  • What is the best way to update Experian QAS products?
  • The best way to update any Experian QAS product is by installing the new product alongside the existing version so that both the new and old versions can be used concurrently. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the new version and verify that it operates before removing the old version.

  • How do I find the product version I am using?
  • By opening your Experian QAS product(s) and use the hotkey combination "Alt +=" you will be able to ascertain the product(s) information.

  • When will my data sets expire?
  • This is different for every Experian QAS data set. You can refer to the Country Data Information to find relevant data set information.

  • I have not received my updates from Experian QAS, what do I do?
  • Follow the process below:

    - Check the data shipping schedule for the expected shipping date of your QAS data sets.
    - Speak to your organizations designated data update contact to ascertain whether your latest data updates have arrived. Every customer of Experian QAS has a designated data update contact.
    - If your designated company's data update contact has not received your Experian QAS Update CDs then you must contact support.

  • Why do I need to perform data updates?
  • It ensures that your organization continually gets the best from your Experian QAS product(s). All postal data sets are active files and are constantly changing from day to day. To cater to this Experian QAS provides frequent updates to all available data sets to its customers.

  • How often does Experian QAS update data sets?
  • Typically it is on a bi-monthly basis. If you require it on a more frequent basis please contact your customer account manager.

  • How do I change the data update shipping contact?
  • You can change the shipping contact by emailing us.support@qas.com contacting our technical support staff at 888-712-3332 or reaching out to your customer account manager.

  • Can I get added to the FTP site to obtain data updates?
  • Yes, reach out to your customer account manager or QAS technical support staff at 888-712-3332 as you will need a weekly password to download the data.

  • Where can I install my Experian QAS product(s)?
  • Depending on the product(s) you own it can be installed as stand alone, on a network drive or server.

  • What do I do when I receive an error message?
  • Check that the data sets were properly installed, you have all license information that is involved and that there is network service for Pro Server/Web products.

  • Can I update data electronically?
  • Yes, there are two ways to update your data electronically. First you can use our FTP site to download your updated data. Additionally, Experian QAS offers a service called QAS EDU (Electronic Data Updates) which downloads and installs QAS data files automatically as soon as they are available.

Licensing Answers

  • After I have purchased Experian QAS product(s) when does the license begin?
  • The license of your Experian QAS product(s) begins on the first day of the month following the purchase.

  • What is license protection?
  • License Protection is a technology that helps prevent unlicensed access to Experian QAS data files. The license protection mechanism applies to every variation of all Experian QAS v4 products and across all platforms.

  • How are Experian QAS product(s) licensed?
  • Experian QAS product(s) are licensed in the following ways*:

    -QAS Pro: is licensed per terminal. This means every terminal that has access to the products and data must be licensed separately.
    -QAS Batch: is licensed per terminal. The quantity licensed must indicate the number of terminals the product and data will be installed on. There is no limit to the number of people that can have access to the terminal Batch is installed on.
    -QAS Pro Web: is licensed per processor for external use. For internal use it is licensed per terminal and for Bulk Processing is licensed per processor.
    -QAS Unify: is licensed per installation.
    -QAS Phone: is licensed per click and the clicks expire after 12 months.
    -QAS Email: is licensed per click and the clicks expire after 12 months.

    *The above is the standard licensing of all Experian QAS products. Unless indicated differently in your special terms, your products are licensed as indicated above.

  • What is a license key?
  • A license key is an encrypted code that contains the critical license information for your software. A license key will be sent to you upon purchase or evaluation of the software. Please be aware that your product will not function without the license key.

  • Who do I contact regarding license issues?
  • Contact your customer account manager or our technical support staff at 888-712-3332.

  • How do I purchase additional license(s) for my Experian QAS products?
  • You can purchase additional license(s) for Experian QAS product(s) by contacting your account manager.

  • How many data sets does Experian QAS license?
  • Experian QAS license 18 countries data sets from 18 different data providers. Additionally though our partner AddressDoctor we license 69 additional countries. Experian QAS has USE and DPV/LACS information from the USPS and Names information from Experian.
