Summary
This document lists and describes all the data-related error messages/codes that may be returned by QuickAddress products. Possible causes for these errors include corrupt or expired data files, an invalid data directory, and missing data files. In most cases the problem can be resolved by performing the latest data update.
Symptoms of a data error
There are two forms of error messages depending on your product implementation. Desktop product users receive error messages, i.e. a textual description of the problem. However, API users receive a number of different error codes (which have the form –XXXX, where X is a number). Error codes are returned when there is a problem with the installed and referenced QuickAddress data files.
Data-related error codes include:

When using QuickAddress User Interface or Plug & Go (desktop) versions, the error is likely to look similar to one of the messages below:
QuickAddress Pro UK 3.15:

QuickAddress Pro 4.xx:

Please note these error messages may vary depending on the QuickAddress product in use.
If QuickAddress has been integrated into another application, the appearance of the error will depend on the way it is “trapped” by the application itself. In this case it may be useful to set up API logging to find the error code.
Solution
A data error message can usually be resolved by performing a data update from the most recent QuickAddress data update shipped. These are dispatched on a regular basis to all QuickAddress customers. (The frequency of updates depends on which data is required). If you cannot locate your latest data update from QAS, please contact support.
