What is licence protection?

Licence Protection is a technology that helps prevent unlicensed access to QuickAddress data files.The licence protection mechanism applies to every variation of all QuickAddress v4 products and across all platforms.

What is a QAS account reference?

This is QAS' unique reference for each of its customers. Your unique account reference can take the following forms:

• 1-xxxxxx
• xxxxxx/L
• xxxxxx/U
• 54-xxxxxx
• 4J-xxxxxx
• I-xxxxxx

Your QAS Account Reference can be found at the top of your QAS DataUpdates/Invoice/Renewal Form letter. If available, please use it in all correspondence with QAS as it speeds up communication and allows us to provide the best possible service.

What is a licence key?

A licence key needs to be entered before a QuickAddress product can access any of its data sets. Your licence key can be found on the Dispatch Note that came with your QuickAddress product(s).

A licence key contains the following parts:

Authentication Code - Your Account Reference - Product - DataSet - Modifiers

Which languages does QuickAddress v4 currenty support?

QuickAddress v4 currently only supports both English International and English American.

What is a readme file?

This is a file saved as readme.txt. It contains a section on the utilities supplied with a QuickAddress product, a revision history of the product, and product related information that is not included in the printed or online documentation. By default the readme.txt file is installed to C:\Program Files\QAS\QuickAddress x (where x is the name of your product).

What is the new features guide?

This document is stored in electronic format and details the new features in the new version of a QuickAddress product.. It also highlights key integration and compatibility issues of which you should be aware The New Features Guide can be accessed via the index.html file, which is located in the Docs folder on your product Installation CD.

What is address capture?

Address Capture maintains data quality by capturing and verifying an address before entering it into a database. This takes the form of searching on an address element and selecting a single address from lists of choices available from the master list. Often it is important that the address is chosen in as short a timescale as possible and using the least amount of keystrokes.

QuickAddress capture products are designed to obtain the correct address at the point of capture, e.g. Pro. This includes point of sale and call centres.

What is address verification?

the Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (UK PAF). Addresses found to be different from the master list (for instance the postcode may be missing or wrong) would be corrected. In this way, customer details are kept up-to-date over a period of time.

An example of a QuickAddress verification product is QuickAddress Batch.

Is the v4 licence key case sensitive?

No it is not. The licence key is case insensitive.
