What is the best method for updating my data sets?

For Windows users, the simplest method of updating QuickAddress data is using the data installer that is shipped on every QuickAddress Data CDROM.

The installer automatically idenitifies all installations of QuickAddress products that were installed (if installed using their respective product installers). Follow the instructions on your data updates letter to find out how to use the data installer.

This method dramatically simplifys the data update process for you the user. Windows data installers can also be used to update QuickAddress v4 API/Web/Server products.

For non-Windows users, the best method for updating data is to manually copy the QuickAddress data files to your desired file location. You must bear in mind that if the v4 data set you are attempting to update has never been installed before, it needs to be licenced before you can use it.

I have not received my data updates from QAS, what do I do?

Follow the process below:

  1. Check the data shipping schedule for the expected shipping date of your QuickAddress data sets.
  2. Speak to your organisations designated data update contact to ascertain whether your latest data updates has arrived. Every customer of QAS has a designated data update contact.
  3. If your designated company’s data update contact has not received your QuickAddress Update CDs then you must contact support.

Why perform QuickAddress data updates?

First and foremost because it ensures that your organisation continually gets the best from your QuickAddress Products. All postal data sets are active files and are constantly changing from day-to-day. To cater for this QAS provide frequent updates to all available datasets to its customers. Failure to update your QuickAddress Product(s) will result in loss of use of the datasets that expire.

Secondly, QuickAddress data updates must be applied in accordance with the country data licence and support contract.
