AUS Relations DataPlus
The Australian Relations Code
and Description DataPlus set (REL) describes the household
structure at address level. There are thirteen types
indicating the different types of household composition.
For instance, a male and a female with the same surname
are classed as a married couple living as a family.
Three or more occupants with different surnames and
different genders constitute a mixed homesharer household.
The Relations code DataPlus set offers information on
a lifestyle indicator that is highly significant for
marketers. It is typically used in analysis as a profiling
and predictive modelling tool, and as a selection criterion
for customer and prospect databases.
The data for the Relations code
DataPlus set is sourced from Pacific Micromarketing’s
Australian Consumer Database (ACD), which is used to
build the classification and infer the composition of
the household. The source data is rebuilt twice a year
to keep in tune with population movement.
